Saturday Night Live Screws Up in a Freekin' Big Way...
Video from SNL on Saturday the 20th of September: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRXQ2ZueP5c
......
Saturday evening's SNL was pretty funny, in my view. I laughed a couple of times and think that they did a decent job. Fred Armisan is a funny guy and his sketch on the Weekend Update bit was terrific.
I actually think that the cast is fairly talented. Kristin Wiig appears to be trying. Bill Hader is a man of a thousand voices. Keenan Thompson can give just a look and get a laugh. All in all, not the worst group they've ever had.
But midway through the show on 9/20 (which i watched the next day), there was an attempt at humor that was so not funny as to be shocking. Insinuating that Governor Palin's husband Todd was possibly sleeping with his daughter(s) was just so strange. Are the writers and Lorne Micheals so out of it that they think this is funny?
The line between bad taste and funny has always been blurry. And will always be.
But incest ain't funny in any way that I can come up with. Is there any way to joke that parents sleeping with their children and NOT have it look bad on the one making the joke??

Make of it what you will, but the show is still an important part of American culture, and worth saving.....
