The play on words it took me 22 years to get...
Roughly 22 years ago the cover of Sports Illustrated carried the phrase "The Magic Flutie" following the Miracle in Miami.
And I have listened to Mozart on and off for a while, just his famous stuff. Typical dabbling.
Then last week, after putting a replica of that particular cover on my wall, I happened to download some Mozart, who wrote "The Magic Flute".
It is often said that Sports Illustrated is the best weekly magazine going. This, to me, is more proof.
Also: I'm reaaaaaaaaal slow-witted. 22 years slow. Help......
====================================
Jon Lester has cancer.....Big Papi, well, we don't know.....the other injured Red Sox....Agassi's back pain....Al Jefferson's foot/ankle.....Branch vs. Pats (less troubling, but still an issue for Boston sports fans) .....
I am overwhelmed with reality. Please, Calgon, take me away.
One thing I do know: I give up way too easily: the Sox played their ASSES off last night.
From what I hear. I didn't have the guts (and not enough tv's with Agassi/BC with Flutie announcing/Pats on) to watch. They are an AWESOME GROUP. I don't care what happens this year or the next fifty.
2004: PAID IN FULL for the next 86 goddamn years. Thanks for a great 10 days.
And Lester and Papi......what does one say when the immortal are faced with mortality?
