disappointing jackie moon flick

i went to see "semi pro" yesterday afternoon after reading a positive review in sports illustrated. with memories of such classic sports sendups as "bull durham" and "slapshot" running through my mind, i went in with high expectations.

and was simply blown away by how bad this film is.

didn't even make it through the first hour before i walked out, believe it or not.

what really did it for me, besides the fact that it just wasn't funny, was a scene involving a poker game and a gun. the guys in the flick actually pointed a supposedly unloaded gun at each other and fired it. ha ha? sick, in my opinion. anyone who finds pointing a gun at another person and firing it funny has more than a few screws loose. this scene was insulting to me, not just not funny.

i gave the film a few more minutes, then left. not funny at all and with one disgusting scene. what a disappointment.
